Since the show first began airing on September of 1993, fans of The X-Files have wanted to see one thing more than anything else: For Agents Mulder and Scully to do the nasty. Although a sex scene between the two was shot at one point, it never made it to air, and any tangible evidence of the two getting it on has been speculative at best.
Well, now Jimmy Kimmel is here to finally put this bit of fan anxiety to rest as Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny reprise their roles in an X-Files sketch where they uncover a bonafide extraterrestrial and consummate their partnership for the first time in 23 years. You can also check out the legitimate return of the characters to television as six new episodes of The X-Files premiere with a special two-night event on FOX beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC Championship Game, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their iconic roles as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully in the upcoming event series, which will encompass a mixture of stand-alone investigative episodes and those that further the original show’s seminal mythology.
